When a bride-to-be is planning her wedding, the last thing she wants to worry about is planning and making the accommodations for where she and her new husband will go on her honeymoon. In order to make the planning of the honeymoon easier, you can go on a cruise. There are a number of cruises that a couple can go on, but when it comes to your honeymoon, you need to find one that will be memorable.

Honeymoon ideas for 2011 include going on a cruise to Hawaii. On your cruise, you won’t have to worry about meals or activities because it’s all included. All you need to do is book a cruise to Hawaii online and reserve your spot. You have the option to choose the fly and cruise package where everything is taken care of for you. It’s nice knowing you don’t have to worry about booking a separate flight to one city and then getting on your cruise in another city.

When you go to take a cruise to Hawaii, you don’t have to stay right on the boat. Once the ship docks, you can cruise around the island. You and your husband can snorkel with the dolphins or canoe the beautiful waters of Hawaii. Learn how to hula dance or hike across the lunar landscape. If you ever get hungry, try out some of the foods that Hawaii has to offer.

Find a private spot on the beach with your spouse and lie in the sand and enjoy the view. Since the planning of the wedding was so stressful, just lying may relax your mind. If you happen to get too hot then find your way back to cruise and jump in the pool to cool off until it’s time to watch some shows.

Vacation Checklist

When you go on vacation, you will have a lot of things to do. Sometimes it is difficult to remember all of the obligations that you have, not to mention the fun things that you have planned. Making a list of things that you want to remember will help you enjoy your vacation by focusing on fun activities and promises that you’ve made yourself.

Fun Things for Your Vacation

You should have fun on your vacation, so include plenty of enjoyable activities on your list. Maybe you want to have a romantic dinner, do something adventurous or meet new people. There are all kinds of things that you can do when you have the time. Put these things on your list to help ensure that you make time for them during your travels.

Souvenirs for Loved Ones

Also include a note that reminds you to buy souvenirs for your loved ones. Souvenirs can be anything from expensive items to simple postcards. As long as you choose items that your loved ones will enjoy, you can successfully share a part of your vacation them.

Customize Your List

When making your list, expand on each item that you write down. Spend some time brainstorming about where you’d like to have that romantic dinner or what types of postcards your friends would like. You should also do some research to help you customize your list. Read travel guides about the cities you plan to visit, so that you can include a range of interesting activities in your schedule.

Ultimately, your vacation should be about making time for yourself and having fun. Having a checklist that includes plenty of options will only make it easier for you to enjoy every moment of your trip. Instead of asking “What next?” you can just pull out your checklist.

The best time to take or book some vacations during the holidays in the Maldives is between December and April. You’ll be able to enjoy the warm weather and have fun in the sun. During the months of December to April the weather doesn’t get any lower than 80 degrees. There also isn’t much rainfall during these months, so you’ll be able to enjoy extra hours in the water and sun.

There are all sorts of fun things to do while enjoying the holidays in Maldives, such as fishing, dancing, and eating. In order to book your holidays in the Maldives you’ll need to go online or to the ITC classics website. There you can get the best rates during those months. All through January and February, you’ll be able to get a diving holiday special, which includes seven days of fun in the sun with free meals and scuba diving.

When you arrive in the Maldives, one of the first things you will notice is the crystal blue water. Your villa will be located over the water, so you’ll always have access to it. Once you unpack, you can get out your scuba gear and join others in the water. Take a walk on the beach and watch the sunset. Lie down on the beach and sunbathe. Whenever you get hungry, you’re not far from a restaurant. The restaurant offers everything that you can imagine, and everything on the menu is served fresh.

Bathing is an experience when you spend your holidays in the Maldives. You’ll have the choice of bathing privately outdoors or indoors. Take a walk on the deck and enjoy the warm night breeze while sipping on a glass of wine. You may also take a stroll along the beach before heading off to bed. You’ll be completely safe on the island while you enjoy your visit to the Maldives.

A Few Simple Ways to Pay for That Coveted Australian Vacation

Australia is one of the top places anybody on the verge of taking a vacation has on their wish list. With the wide array of beautiful sites and natural wonders, Australia is the ultimate vacation destination. However, it can be somewhat expensive to get to Australia let alone stay there over a period of time; this can be a drain on the motivation for some in seeing it as a realistic experience. Fortunately, there are some simple things that can be done to assist in making the Australian dream come true for the everyday traveler.

Have a Garage Sale

Are you a pack rat? If so, you could be sitting on hundreds and even thousands of prospective dollars that can go towards your Australian dream vacation. Go through your garage and closets and see what kinds of treasures you can find while simultaneously picturing the tantalizing picturesque scenery that you will see first hand on your vacation. If you hold a garage sale and it is a success, hold a few more over the course of a month and sell off as much as possible.

Cut Down on Eating Out

As with most people in this fast paced society, you more than likely spend a decent amount of money eating out. Try switching just one or two meals a week to something from home, then take the money you would have spent on fast food and save it to put towards your vacation, you will be amazed at how quickly it adds up.

Partake a Second Jon

If you are extremely motivated in achieving the ultimate goal of an Australian vacation, look for a part-time second job that you can use to finance your trip. Obviously, this is an extreme route to take depending on your family life and general situation, but that all depends on just how bad you want to get to Australia.

Tips for Traveling in Australia with Children

Australia is a big country   From koala bears and kangaroos to sun-drenched beaches to historical sites and museums, there are many places to explore and many activities to enjoy.  Here are several tips for parents who are traveling in Australia with children that will make sure that everyone has a great time.

Don’t be tempted to see everything.  Before you leave home, select only one or two cities or places to visit.  And in those places, plan on visiting just a handful of what that area has to offer.  When traveling with children, less is more – doing less is more enjoyable. Your children will be happier.  And, happy children make for happy parents.

Make sure you drink plenty of water during the day.  Don’t ruin your fun activities by having family members suffer from nausea and headaches due to dehydration.

Always put on sunscreen before you leave for your daily activities.  Re-apply it several times throughout the day.  You want fun memories of your Australian vacation not memories of suffering from sunburns.

Children won’t have the same attention span as adults when visiting historical sites, museums, or art galleries.  Be sure to take breaks often to rest weary feet and possibly even a refreshment break.
Make sure that everyone gets plenty of sleep each night.  They will be refreshed and ready for the next day’s adventure and won’t be tired and cranky.

Consider giving children an inexpensive digital camera.  Before you leave on your vacation in Australia, give them some general photography tips such as holding the camera steady and keeping it straight.  Have them practice taking pictures so that they are familiar with the camera.  While traveling, point out Kodak moments where they might enjoy taking pictures.  When you get home, set aside time when you and your children can review the pictures they have taken.  Select the best and create a book from online sites such as Shutterfly or Picaboo.

If you like to travel around, there are some great vacation spots all over the world for you to explore. Melbourne is one of them, and it’s a very popular destination with people from Australia and all over the rest of the world. If you’re interested in going somewhere new this, year, why not give Melbourne a try? There are plenty of great things to see there, and there are options for everyone. Whether you like to stay inside or you want to go out and do all kinds of things, options will be there for you. There are great hotels and exotic attractions, so you’ll never be bored no matter what your interests or activity level.

Even if you really want to travel, you also need a great place to come home to, so you can relax and plan your next vacation. Denver apartments can give you that home base that you want, with plenty of amenities and a spacious area you can feel comfortable in. It’s fun to go to Melbourne, but it’s also fun to come home and reminisce – and maybe plan to go back again. Even if you spend a couple of weeks in Melbourne on your vacation, there are still things you probably didn’t get to see.

Do some more research and find the attractions you missed, along with the ones you want to see again. Make a list and you’ll be ready to go back and start exploring. Attractions come and go, too, so there might be something new that you weren’t able to see the last time you were in Melbourne. Take the time to ask the locals, too, because they could make some suggestions that aren’t standard tourist attractions. Often, the things that the locals like to see and the places they eat can be a more authentic and fulfilling experience.

Australia.  People around the world feel the magical pull to the land down under.  They arrive with big expectations for a big country.  When they leave, those expectations have been filled beyond their wildest dreams — especially if their travels include the following activities.

Be sure to take an underwater camera as you scuba dive along the Great Barrier Reef.  Snap photos of the daffodil-yellow and midnight-black colored Jack Knife fish or the caramel and snow-white-spotted Sweetlips fish.  Capture images of blue-lipped giant sea clams, the orange coral, dwarf minke whales, sneaky seasnakes, or reef sharks.  If scuba diving isn’t for you, try your hand at snorkeling where you can still enjoy the colorful fish and the remarkable coral and marine life in the ocean.

The Gold Coast – full of adventure and romance.  Sun-kissed beaches. Cobalt blue waters.  Surfing.  Wildlife sanctuaries.  Rainforests. Whale watching. Over ten theme parks for families.  And sunshine, sunshine, sunshine.  Oh my!  The city offers diverse shopping centers, a gourmet’s delight in restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife.  Travelers in Australia can spend days and days in the Gold Coast and never get bored.

Ride the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway Day Trip from Cairns to Karunda – ‘the village in the rainforest.’ Learn about Queensland’s pioneering history.  Take advantage of Kodak moments when the train stops at Barron Gorge and you see the spectacular Barron Falls.  Browse the Heritage Markets, explore the Kuranda Village, or visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary.  The beauty of the rainforest will be etched in your memory forever.

Your vacation in Australia wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t take an evening dinner cruise of the Sydney Harbor.  The champagne, canapés, and two-course dinner with wine are superb.  The service is first-class and the sights are impressive.  Nothing can top the view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the striking Opera House.  If you have time, you’ll also want to take in a show in the Opera House.

Traveling Tips for You

If you are going on a vacation, you are expecting to have a wonderful time. Renting a car is the best option so look at car prices before you depart. When traveling, make sure you stay safe and aware from troubling situations. You want to be prepared for anything that happens but you also want to avoid anything before it starts.

When deciding to go on a vacation alone, don’t tell anyone you are traveling by yourself. Keep that information private and only tell your closest friends or the people that are your emergency contacts. You don’t want people to know that your house may be unoccupied as well.

When traveling on your vacation alone, make sure you stick to any groups that might be touring nearby. You don’t have to belong to the group, you can just blend in and still get the same experience they are.

If you are going with a vacation package, try to do an all-inclusive vacation package. That way everything you need will be right on the resort and you won’t have to leave the area for anything. However, an all-inclusive may not be good for you if you like to explore new areas and travel. If you do decide to do an all-inclusive though, make sure you don’t leave the resort at night. Many areas around the resort are not well-lit and offer no security or protection from other people.

If you do decide to go off by yourself, stay away from deserted streets or alleys. Never go into an area that isn’t well-lit. Try wearing a whistle around your neck. That way, if you need to call for help you can just blow on your whistle and hopefully scare away potential thieves and robbers.

Must-See Sites in Australia for History Buffs

Norfolk Island 5

Calling all history buffs!  Australia is rich in historical sites for you to enjoy.  Many of them are connected to the era of the 18th and 19th century when Britain shipped prison inmates to Australia to be used as cheap labor.  The following three are of special interest.

Kingston and the Arthurs Vale Historic Area on Norfolk Island should be top on your list of sites to see in Australia.  Many buildings from that era are still standing in addition to several archaeological remnants.  The penal system on this island was known as ‘hell in paradise’ because inmates were treated brutally and sadistic.  The British Government wanted to maintain the idea that transportation as punishment for crimes was to be feared.  Tales of the brutal treatment of prisoners on Norfolk Island in Australia filtered back to England and prisoners (and the general public) were duly horrified.  Take time to walk the paths that prisoners walked and see the chilling prison left standing.

Cockatoo Island, in the Sydney Harbor, should also be on your must-see list when you travel to Australia.  The first prisoners to this island came from Norfolk Island to build grain silos out of rock.  Prisoners quarried stones for penal buildings, a seawall for Circular Quay, and other projects around Sydney.  Of special interest are the prison cells under the cookhouse, which provides insight into prison life.

Your vacation to Australia should also include Fremantle Prison.  It was built by convict labor from limestone quarried on-site. (Later, it was used as a jail for locally sentenced prisoners.) Convict prisoners were put in chain gangs and built the Perth Town hall and other public buildings in the surrounding area.  When you visit this site, you will see the gatehouse and perimeter walls, and the prison.  Of special interest is the tunnel system that enabled prisoners to pump water by hand for the prison, the colony, and even ships in the harbor.
