So, you have decided that it is time to take a vacation. You’ve done your research, know where you are going, know how much it will cost and might have even already got paycheck advance. Now all you need to do is come up with the money for your trip. This is the frustrating thing for many people. Saving for a vacation can be difficult. There are ways to save the money, though.

1) Have a bake sale. It may sound silly, but especially in the summer months, when people are having garage sales, this can help you raise some money. If everyone around you is having a garage sale, you offer the food. People get hungry and thirsty when they’re out looking for a deal.

2) Refinance auto loans can help you save money on your car payment each month. Get a better interest rate, and therefore a better payment. The sooner you do this, the sooner you’re going to be on your way!

3) Clean out the closets. You can generally sell your old clothes (as long as they are in good condition) to a consignment shop, or even online. Though this may not bring in a ton of money, it will help you toward your goal.

4) Turn off the television. And the lights. If you aren’t using it, don’t have it on. This will help you save money on your electricity bill each month.

5) Get a second job. You may be able to find a part time or seasonal job that can help you save money much faster. This may not be your ideal, but just keep thinking of the great vacation it is helping you toward.

Saving money can be frustrating, but it is worth it when you know the rewards that will come. You will find the hassle you went through worth every second as you head out on your amazing vacation.

If you have decided to take a trip and plan on flying, you know how expensive airfares can be. You may only be flying a few hundred miles or you may be planning a vacation to such beautiful locales as Australia or New Zealand. With just a few tips, you can find inexpensive flights using the Internet.

Set approximate travel dates. Since you are planning to purchase your flights via the Internet, you will need to know when you plan to travel. You don’t really need an exact time for your departure and return; however, you should have some general idea. Also, decide if you want non-stop flights or other preferences, such as flying business class or first class.

Purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are usually cheaper when purchased a minimum of 21 days prior to the flight. While this is not a definitive rule, it is best to make your travel plans at least this far in advance.

While you can go directly to individual airline websites to search for inexpensive fares, you should also check out sites like Kayak that will provide fare listings for many different airlines. There are also specialty sites that offer discounts for certain groups of people, such as students or senior citizens. Once you start investigating airfares through your chosen online site, make sure that you understand any additional fees and charges that may apply to the basic fare.

After you find a suitable airfare, all that’s left to do is book that flight, pack your bags, and enjoy your travels.

The Austrailan Open Turns 100

The greatest tennis players in the world love the time they get to spend down under during the tournament and you will too. The tournament always takes place over the last two weeks in January when the weather in Melbourne is ideal. The seasons there are just the opposite of North America and Europe, so January is in the middle of their summer with an average high temperature of 79 degrees. It’s simple really. Your vacation doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. These days there are plenty of ways to go where you want to go and do what you want to do without having to set your personal finance back a considerable margin.

First there is the trouble with the flights. These are rarely inexpensive but there are often ways for you to cut corners and swing your way to a one of a kind deal. Something to consider: if you get a rewards card you can either use the points for a flight, figuring you have enough, or you can use the points towards a gift card to help you cover the cost of a flight. This may not pay for your whole ticket but this could help you pay for some of it and ease the burden on yourself.

Something else to consider is be aware when you fly. Many times an airport gets overbooked and they ask passengers to stay behind with the offer of free tickets in the future. This is a great way for you to score free tickets for a slight inconvenience. It would stink to have to wait but the payoff is free plane tickets in the future.

Keep looking for airline deals to. There are a number of companies who are willing to give you a decent fare for signing up for their alert system. This will inform you when there is a must get plane ticket. Your vacation can be affordable, even the flight. So get creative and fly cheaper today.

If you are visiting Melbourne, Australia, then one of the things that you are going to want to put some planning and consideration into is the tourist services. For example, the City Circle tram is going to be a beneficial tourist service for you as it will run around the entire perimeter of the CBD, covering a number of important destinations including Docklands Precinct, Harbour Esplanade, La Trobe St, Victoria St, Nicholson St, Spring St, and Flinders St.

The tram moves along the route and there are signs posted along the way. The Avalon Airport is also known as AVV, and it situated in the outer suburb known as Lara in Geelong. You will find the airport approximately 55 kilometers to the southwest from Melbourne. A shuttle to this airport is relatively inexpensive even though this airport is considered to be further away from the city centre of Melbourne, so many people choose to fly out of this airport as it often allows them to save some money. The terminal itself is also user friendly, offering everything that people need in a neat and compact space. Inside you will find an ATM, baggage carousels and a care hire desk in what appears to be an old hangar at the arrivals area. The Avalon Airport is only serviced by a couple of low-cost airlines, primarily Tiger and Jetstar. These are some of the lower-cost airline companies in the region. Both of these airlines also fly out of Tullamarine in addition to the Avalon Airport, so it is important for visitors to the area to determine which airport they are actually going to be using to clear up any potential confusion before flying. Make sure that you plan out your route to and from the Avalon Airport when planning your trip, as there are numerous different ways to get between the city centre and the airport, including public transportation, car rental and taxi cab as well.

The Melbourne Airport, also known as MEL, can be found 22 kilometers northwest from the city centre, and it is adjacent to Tullamarine, an industrial suburb. There are a variety of regular flights that go back and forth between all of the major cities in Australia and New Zealand, and there are also direct flights internationally that go to a number of Asian hubs, or even further with connections into Europe. There are also direct flights out of the Melbourne Airport that go to the western United States coast, Santiago, Canada, Fiji and also Hawaii. It can be practical for people to fly to Melbourne from a variety of different international points around the world.

There are four terminals at the Melbourne Airport. You will find T1, T2 and T3 in the same building, and then T4 is in a separate building but is only a short walk away. Each of these terminals has its own separate security screening, and so there is no access between these terminals once you have entered into the sterile area, so you should be prepared to exit out and then pass through security again if planning on moving into a different terminal at the airport.

T1 is the North Terminal, T2 is the International Terminal, T3 is the South Terminal and T4 is only used by Tiger Airways Australia for domestic services. All passenger arrivals are on the terminals’ lower levels, and departures are on the upper level. There are taxi services offered at the airport, transporting travelers to the city centre for approximately $40-45 in clear traffic.
